Shubman Gill delivered a captain’s masterclass to power Gujarat Titans into the IPL 2026 final after a spectacular chase against Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2.
The evening began with Rajasthan Royals putting up a formidable total of 214 for the loss of 6 wickets, largely thanks to a breathtaking 96 off just 47 balls from teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.
While that score initially seemed imposing, Gujarat Titans’ opening pair made light work of the chase.
Gill and Sai Sudharsan stitched together a stunning 167-run partnership off only 77 balls to effectively seal the match.
The skipper was the chief architect of this chase, smashing a masterful 104 off only 53 deliveries packed with timing and placement rather than brute force.
Gill reached his century in just 47 balls, setting the record for the fastest hundred in IPL playoff history.
